On January 31, 1997, Waiting for Guffman was released in the US.
It is one of my all-time favorite movies. And if I could have all the roles of any single actress, I'd pick Parker Posey. In this film she played Libby Mae Brown.
"I been workin' here at the D.Q. for about, um... eight months? Seven? I don't know, somethin' like that, it's fun. Just do the cones... make sundaes, make Blizzards, 'n... put stuff on 'em, 'n... see a lot of people come in, a lot of people come to the D.Q... burgers... ice cream... anything, you know? Cokes... just drive in and get a Coke, if you're thirsty. "
Oh! I went to a DQ at a mall to get a drink so I could have a cup. But when they gave it to me, it was an Orange Julius cup. I asked if I could have a DQ one and they said they were expensive and they'd have to charge me 25 cents. Fine. These must be reserved for shakes or blizzards or something? I dunno.
Also, I got the apron at a ... See MoreRestaurant Depot. They usually only sell to businesses, but they gave me a 1 day pass. So now I have some future costume items too...yay!
I got the visor at Ozzie Dots - my new favorite store in LA.

2 out of 5. I was hoping for more from these ladies, but maybe if I were still a teenager I'd have liked it more.

The sea starts on land at Deauville, with the famous boardwalk that everyone should experience. The first boardwalk, 1,253 metres long, was laid in the late 19th century. Lying perpendicular to the sea, it was strictly utilitarian, enabling people to reach the beach and sea without splashing through the as-yet undrained marshland. Before the Great War it was also used by the fashionable wheeled beach huts.
In 1921, Mayor Eug?ne Colas launched a competition to renew the beach huts and to lay 444 metres of boardwalk parallel to the sea. This was part of a global project that also involved the building of ?Roman? baths. The architect Charles Adda was chosen and built the boardwalk out of planks of azobe, an African wood that was reputed to be impervious to rot. And so the famous boardwalk as we know it today was born in 1923. It makes a true stage for the com?die humaine and one of the most beautiful scenes in the world. Nobody could resist, particularly the tout Paris of the Roaring Twenties who loved to stroll here. Jos?phine Baker, Mistinguett, Sacha Guitry, Andr? Citro?n, Coco Chanel, Eug?ne Boudin, Fujita and other great names in the world of business and the arts, as well as royalty were often to be found here. The boardwalk in its current length (643 metres) dates from 1986. Names of famous actors are now painted on the numerous beach cabins alongside the boardwalk.
Deauville is a town and a commune in the Calvados d?partement in the Basse-Normandie region of France. With its racecourse, harbour, international film festival, marinas, conference centre, villas, Grand Casino and sumptuous hotels, Deauville is regarded as the "queen of the Norman beaches". Since the 19th century, the town of Deauville has been a fashionable holiday resort for the international upper class. Deauville is also a desired family resort.
